Su Mudaerji (16-4) has also found his form in UFC. He got submitted on his debut up at bantamweight by Louis Smolka (2018), but he has gone on to string three decent wins together – a unanimous decision over Andre Soukhamthath (2019), a brutal knockout over Malcolm Gordon (2020) and another unanimous decision over Zarrukh Adashev (2021).
Manel Kape (17-6) had an action-packed 2021. Coming in hot with three straight knockouts for Rizin, he got thrown to the wolves meeting Alexandre Pantoja on debut losing a unanimous decision. His momentum was fully quashed when he lost another decision to Matheus Nicolae. However, he finished the year showcasing the skill that got him to the UFC by dispatching Ode Osbourne with a flying knee and then racking up another first round knockout over Zhalgas Zhumagulov.
SU MUDAERJI VS MANEL KAPE PREDICTION
This is one of the most exciting matchups on the card. They are both ferociously quick and electric strikers with knockout power and besides a four-inch reach and three-inch height advantage for Mudaerji, there is very little between them on paper.
Expect a high pace, several feints and a lot of volume. Mudaerji should open up with some leg kicks to slow Kape down who will not hesitate to counter with his explosiveness. Kape’s experience fighting better fighters should give him the confidence although as the fight goes on, Mudaerji’s confidence will grow.
This is very tough to call, and a knockout is possible, but we are leaning towards Mudaerji being patient and frustrating Kape with his volume peppering from range to sway the judges.
