ODE OSBOURNE VS CHARLES JOHNSON LOWDOWN

Ode Osbourne (11-5(1)) was preparing for Denys Bondar but unfortunately the Ukrainian had to pull out. Thankfully, he is still on the card as he is desperate to bounce back from his second knockout loss. He got flying knee’d into next week by Manel Kape (2021) and responded with a unanimous decision over CJ Vergara (2021) and a knockout over Zarrukh Adashev (2022). However, Tyson Nam (2022) inflicted the second knockout back in August to leave him 3-3 in the UFC.

Charles Johnson (13-3) steps in to replace Bondar and he has his mojo back after suffering his second UFC loss which was to Muhammad Mokaev (2022). That snapped a four-fight win streak but he is back on the march with a split decision over Zhalgas Zhumagulov (2022) and a dismissive TKO over Jimmy Flick in January this year.

ODE OSBOURNE VS CHARLES JOHNSON PREDICTION

Johnson’s only two losses in his last nine fights were decisions to Mokaev and Brandon Royval (2018) and you could say it was a feat to not get submitted. He has a lot of offer the flyweight division and even though he takes this fight on short notice, he is the favourite.

His grappling defence is proven, but his bread and butter is his boxing. This should make for an exciting scrap as Osbourne is a solid striker himself. He is a southpaw and fights well from range possessing knockout power.

This fight is at 130 lbs which will help Osbourne as the cut to 125lbs is extreme for the former featherweight. He is still the underdog and considering Johnson is taking the fight on short notice, there is a lot of value on him.

That said, we are leaning towards Johnson who should be able to land more damage with his kicks and boxing combinations to convince the judges.
