NATHANIEL WOOD VS VINCE MORALES LOWDOWN

Nathaniel Wood (17-5) is grateful to still be on the card especially as he has not fought since 2020. He got three fights in that year, and it was a bit of a mixed bag fighting top competition. He went into that year after submitting his first three UFC victims to announce himself on the big stage. Those subs capped off a brilliant eight-fight win streak but then he ran into the veteran John Dodson who pulled off the TKO in the third round. Wood bounced back with a solid unanimous decision over John Castaneda but then got handed the hugely talented Casey Kenney who earnt the unanimous decision.

The Ukrainian, Liudvik Sholinian was paired for the Brit but has understandably had to pull out due to the current conflict with Russia. Vince Morales (11-5) steps up and is coming in hot with two wins last year - unanimous decision over Drako Rodriguez and clean knockout over Louis Smolka. They came after a tough start to his UFC career losing a unanimous decisions to Song Yadong (2018) and Benito Lopez (2019) before getting TKO’d by Chris Gutierrez (2020).

NATHANIEL WOOD VS VINCE MORALES PREDICTION

This is a very different fight for Wood who was training for a wrestler. Morales is a dangerous and fluid striker. Wood is also a great striker which will create some exciting exchanges. He has dangerous leg kicks which will be key to disabling the power and movement of Morales.

Wood is the better striker and will be wise to try and get the fight to the ground. As long as he does not get lured into a brawl, Wood should have the variety in his attack to keep Morales on the back foot swaying the judges by mixing in takedowns with his diverse striking.
