MATEUSZ REBECKI VS NICK FIORE LOWDOWN
Mateusz Rebecki (16-1) finally gets his UFC call-up. After cleaning up the Polish scene, the Fight Exclusive Night lightweight champion made his audition on the Contender Series back in August last year. He took on Rodrigo Lidio and wasted no time to picking up the contrat submitting him in the first round. That win extended his streak to 13 which includes eight knockouts and three submissions.
He was scheduled to fight Omar Morales but Nick Fiore (6-0) has stepped in to replace him on just two weeks’ notice. The New England Cartel member only has six pro fights in the books but he has finished all of his fights in the first round including two submissions and a knockout last year under the Combat Zone banner,
MATEUSZ REBECKI VS NICK FIORE PREDICTION
You just have to glance at Fiore’s record to know he is going to burst out the gate and hunt a finish. He will throw hands and pounce on a takedown hoping to find a quick submission. However, the odds are stacked against him taking on an absolute beast with hardly any time to prepare.
Fiore is dangerous but despite the impressive looking record, he has not fought anyone of note and is completely unproven at this level. Rebecki could have been in the UFC a long time ago and we expect him to fend off the majority of takedown attempts and even seal a some of his own.
Considering the odds, a small punt on Fiore is the only value, but on paper, Rebecki should take this all day. He has the grappling to negate the offence of Fiore and the striking to have a comfortable night.
