Fighting out of Coconut Creek, Florida, Mariya Agapova (10-3) will be looking to establish some sort of consistency going forward. Coming off of a defeat to Maryna Moroz back in March, Agapova’s last victory came in October of 2021 against Sabina Mazo. Therefore, she will be itching to get the win this weekend.
As for Agapova’s opponent this weekend, Gillian Robertson (10-7) is also currently enduring a bit of an odd run at the moment. Currently, 2-3 in her last five outings, Robertson is coming off of a defeat to JJ Aldrich earlier this year. Her last win came against Priscila Cachoeira back in December of 2021.

Heading into this weekend’s flyweight bout, Agapova will have an advantage in both the height and reach department.
When watching Robertson, she is very one-dimensional. Her stand out trait is her grappling. With that being said, it is not quite at the level of the better fighters in the division. The lack of development in her striking is also evident. However, she should have enough to beat Agapova. Agapova has shown that she has struggled against fairly decent grapplers in the division. Therefore, we suspect that Robertson will look to avoid Agapova’s striking attacks early on and start to control the fight by taking it to the floor and winning with her signature move.
