KURT HOLOBAUGH VS TREY OGDEN LOWDOWN
Kurt Holobaugh (20-7(1)) got his second marching orders from the UFC back in 2019 when he lost all three of his UFC fights to Raoni Barcelos (2018), Shane Burgos (2018) and Thiago Moises (2019). A couple knockouts later, he was on The Ultimate Fighter 31 and submitted Austin Hubbard (2023) in the finale to earn his place back in the big time.
Trey Ogden (16-6(1)) has also struggled to get his UFC career up and running going 1-2(1) so far. He got outpointed on debut by Jordan Leavitt (2022) then got one back over Daniel Zellhuber (2022) which is ageing very well. He then dropped another decision to Ignacio Bahamondes (2023) and is coming off that premature stoppage and ‘no contest’ with Nikolas Motta (2023).
KURT HOLOBAUGH VS TREY OGDEN PREDICTION
This should be a high-paced contest with a mixture of striking and grappling. They are both well-rounded, but the grappling could be the difference.
Holobaugh will look to unleash his hands when they enter the pocket and Odgen will have to respect his power. Ogden is also a dangerous striker and we expect him to set up the takedown with his strikes.
Holobaugh is a strong grappler and he will be confident in his jiu-jitsu should they hit the deck. However, Ogden is a beast in top position, and he can shut Holobaugh down with his wrestling.
We are backing Ogden to grind out a decision, but there is value on Holobaugh as the underdog.
