KEVIN HOLLAND VS MAKHMUD MURADOV LOWDOWN
Kevin Holland (19-5) is keeping as active as ever making his fourth outing of the year. In fact, all of his 24 fights have come in just over five years and he is showing no signs of slowing down. He ended 2019 with a submission loss to Brendan Allen snapping a three-fight win streak but 2020 has birthed another three-fight streak taking the scalps of Anthony Hernandez (TKO), Joaquin Buckley (TKO) and Darren Stewart (split decision).
Makhmud Muradov (26-6) was originally supposed to fight Krzysztof Jotko but broke his toe allowing Holland to step in once again. Muradov is a force and forgotten what it feels like to lose. He has lost once since 2015 and had 18 fights in that time and now he is on a 13-fight win streak including two UFC wins. He earnt a unanimous decision over Alessio Di Chirico and removed Trevor Smith’s soul with his right hand late in the fight.
KEVIN HOLLAND VS MAKHMUD MURADOV PREDICTION
Holland is the slight favourite with his proven UFC experience, but this is a very close fight on paper. It should be a technical stand-up battle and considering their power, a knockout could fall either way.
Holland will boast a six-inch reach advantage and he will have to utilise it to win the exchanges. This is Muradov’s toughest fight to date, but he has a great chance. He is extremely explosive with a dangerous flying knee and has brutal ground-and-pound which will be his best weapon.
Holland is a beast on the feet and his reach combined with his confidence could make this a very hard night for Muradov. If Muradov can negate the reach by exploding into range and ideally get him to the mat he could set up his biggest win.
If Holland’s preparations have gone smoothly filling in for Jotko and he takes Muradov seriously, he can pick up another win and potential knockout. If the fight goes the distance, you also have to back him as he has a knack of swaying the judges.
