JONATHAN MARTINEZ VS ZVIAD LAZISHVILI PREDICTION

In what has been a hastily rearranged bout, Georgian bantamweight Zviad Lazishvili has stepped in with three days’ notice to replace Aaron Phillips in this fight against Jonathan Martinez.

The highly-rated Lazishvili was due to make his UFC debut last month but was forced out with a foot injury. He will now put his unbeaten 13-0 record on the line against Martinez in what promises to be a hugely competitive fight.

Martinez (13-4) is coming off a knockout loss at the hands of Davey Grant so he will need to bounce back from that and adjust to the change in opponent. He certainly has the edge at this level having had seven bouts in the UFC but he is facing something of an unknown quantity in Lazishvili.

Despite the late call-up, this rearranged fight could turn out to be an even tougher fight for Martinez and Lazishvili is marginally favoured to get a debut win in the Octagon.
