GUIDO CANNETTI VS KRIS MOUTINHO LOWDOWN

We are not sure quite sure how Guido Cannetti (8-6) is still in the UFC. He is on a three-fight skid, lost four of his last five and only fought twice since 2018. He last win was a unanimous decision over Diego Rivas (2018) but has since lost to Marlon Vera (2018) via submission, Danaa Batgerel (2020) via knockout and Mana Martinez (2021) via split decision. He is also 42 years old so the writing is on the wall with another loss.

Respectfully trying to kick him out the UFC is Kris Moutinho (9-5) who recently stepped in on short notice to fight bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley (2021). He got finished in the third round but gained a lot of fans by putting up one hell of a fight and making O’Malley work hard for the win. Prior to that, he TKO’d Ashiek Ajim (2020) for CES MMA and submitted Andrew Salas (2021) for CFFC.

GUIDO CANNETTI VS KRIS MOUTINHO PREDICTION

Despite the form, Cannetti is still a dangerous fighter. He is an excellent striker from a Muay Thai background with some serious power. As we saw in his last fight, Moutinho has a solid chin so we should be in for a fun scrap.

Cannetti will attack with leg kicks, but he will have to be careful of the counter as Moutinho is also a southpaw and will attack the damaged chin with little regard for protecting his own. Once, Cannetti realizes that Moutinho will simply eat all his shots and continue walking him down, he is likely to shoot in for a takedown.

Cannetti can swing this in his favour with his grappling, but we expect the majority of this fight to stay on the feet where Moutinho will walk through the Argentinian and a few clean shots could even seal the knockout.
