After a successful stint on the Dana White’s Contender Series, Gloria de Paula (6-4) is currently 1-2 in the UFC. However, the Brazillian is coming off of a decision win against Diana Belbiţă back in February of this year. Looking to pick up her second win with the promotion, de Paula will need to put in a big performance this weekend.
As for Maria Oliveira (12-5), she will be looking to pick up her first win in the UFC this weekend. Oliveira suffered a defeat on her promotional debut against Tabatha Ricci back in October of 2021. Another defeat could be curtains for Oliveira’s UFC career. Therefore, she will be doing whatever it takes to win.

Heading into this weekend’s strawweight bout, both women share the same height. However, it is Oliveira who will have a slight advantage in the reach department.
There have been questions raised when it comes to Oliveira’s ability to wrestle. Luckily for the Brazilian, de Paula’s wrestling game is not as efficient as well. At this moment in time, Oliveira has yet to prove that she is of UFC calibre. Her ground game is poor and her striking is not sharp at all. Therefore, we suspect that de Paula will look to use her handy Muay Thai skills to win the kickboxing exchanges and go on to outpoint Oliveira.
