Currently riding a two-fight losing streak, Eddie Wineland (24-15-1) will be desperate to get back in the win column. Wineland has accomplished so much in the octagon, and it is fair to say that he is coming towards the end of his career. Wineland suffered a knockout defeat to John Castañeda in his last outing.

As for his opponent, Cody Stamann (19-5-1) is currently enduring the worst spell of his UFC career. Stamann has lost his last three fights, with his last fight losing via submission to Said Nurmagomedov. Therefore, Stamann will be itching to pick up a crucial win this weekend. His last win came nearly two years ago.

Heading into this weekend’s bantamweight showdown, Wineland will have the advantage in both the height and reach department.

Even though Stamann is currently riding a three-fight losing streak, it is fair to say that they were all against some tough opponents. This weekend’s matchup against Wineland is favourable for Cody. His footwork is excellent. With that being said, his striking is not the best. We suspect that Stamann will look to use his great footwork to frustrate Wineland before taking the fight to the floor and securing a decision victory.
