DARIAN WEEKS VS YOHAN LAINESSE LOWDOWN
Fighting out of Sedalia, Missouri, Darian Weeks (5-2) is coming off of his first two professional defeats. Looking to get back in the win column, it is fair to say that he has got a tough matchup this weekend. Coming off of a defeat to Ian Machado Garry, Weeks will be itching to show the UFC fans what he’s capable of this weekend.
As for Darian’s opponent this weekend, Yohan Lainesse (8-1) booked himself a spot in the UFC after defeating Justin Burlinson on the Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2021. Lainesse’s debut did not go quite to plan after losing to Gabe Green. However, he will be chasing his first UFC win this weekend.
DARIAN WEEKS VS YOHAN LAINESSE PREDICTION
Heading into this weekend’s welterweight showdown, Lainesse will have an advantage in both the height and reach department.
Despite being 5-0 before the two defeats, Weeks has looked a bit questionable inside the UFC octagon so far. On the feet against Garry, he had very little to offer. In terms of punching power, Lainesse will fancy his chances and has enough grappling skills to avoid any danger. From the off, if his cardio holds up, we suspect that Lainesse will be the aggressor and look to apply real pressure in the stand up battle and chase the finish.
