DANIEL MARCOS VS QILENG AORI LOWDOWN

Daniel Marcos (15-0) heads to the APEX for his 3rd UFC bout hoping to extend his unbeaten record. After making his name under the Sparta banner and taking three years off, he got an audition on the Contender Series. He was paired with Brandon Lewis (2022) and sealed the contract with a unanimous decision. He made his debut four months later and knocked out Salmon Oliveira before earning a split decision over Davey Grant back in July.

Qileng Aori’s (25-10) start to his UFC chapter did not go as smoothly losing unanimous decisions to Jeff Molina (2021) and Cody Durden (2021). He bounced back with a TKO over Cameron Else (2022) and unanimous decision over Jay Perrin (2022) before getting knocked out for the first time, courtesy of Aiemann Zahabi (2023). However, he got back in the win column back in October with another unanimous decision which was over Johnny Munoz Jr.

DANIEL MARCOS VS QILENG AORI PREDICTION

You just have to glance at the records to know who the heavy favourite is, but this is a very tough fight for Marcos.

He is a very dynamic and dangerous striker, and he will try and get the job done on the feet. Aori is also a striker by trade, but he can grapple, and he will be wise to call upon those skills here.

We expect him to feel Marcos out on the feet before mixing in the takedown attempts. We can see him succeeding or at least earning some control time against the fence, but we feel Marcos’ takedown defence will ensure this stays on the feet for the majority of the fight.

Aori will make this competitive, but the Peruvian’s speed, power and technique should be enough to convince the judges.

Prediction: Marcos via Decision

Value Bet: Aori to win
