CJ Vergara (10-4-1) has a lot to prove after losing his second UFC fight. He arrived to the UFC on a five-fight knockout streak but got stopped in his tracks losing a unanimous decision to Ode Osbourne (2021). He bounced back with a split decision win over Kleydson Rodrigues (2022) but was then handed a super tough match-up in the form of the surging Tatsuro Taira (2022) who submitted him in the third round.
With even more to prove, Daniel Da Silva (11-4) heads to Texas hoping to prevent a four-fight skid. He got TKO’d on debut by Jeff Molina (2021) and then submitted by Francisco Figueiredo (2022). Victor Altamirano (2022) then made it three finishes in a row with a first-round TKO.

It will be curtains for Da Silva’s UFC career with another loss. So, you would expect him to be more cautious and not throw the kitchen sink in the first round.
However, that is just not his style. His wild and aggressive striking makes him an incredibly exciting fighter and he is just as aggressive on the canvas with slick jiu-jitsu. Considering the odds, he is well worth a punt for a first-round finish.
However, if Vergara can weather the early storm, he will be in his element especially with his home crowd behind him. He is well-rounded and has brilliant cardio. So, if this goes into the second or third round, you have to back Vergara who may even secure a late knockout.
