CHARLES RADTKE VS CARLOS PRATES LOWDOWN

Charles Radtke (9-3) won his first two UFC fights to extend his winning streak to six. He met Mike Mathetha (2023) on his debut at UFC 293 and earnt a unanimous decision. He returned five months later at UFC Fight Night 235 and put on a more clinical showing knocking Gilbert Urbina (2024) out in the first round.

He takes on Carlos Prates (18-6) who is riding his own impressive eight-fight streak with his last seven ending via knockout. He put Mitch Ramirez (2023) away on the Contender Series and followed that up by dispatching Trevin Giles (2024) on his UFC debut.

CHARLES RADTKE VS CARLOS PRATES PREDICTION

If they try and avoid each other’s strengths, this will end up looking like a classic striker vs grappler match-up. Prates is lethal on the feet and will pursue the knockout with all eight limbs. Radtke is well-rounded, but he does his best work on the ground, and he is likely to adopt a wrestling-heavy game plan.

If Prates can avoid the takedown and keep the majority of the fight on the feet, we can see him finding the knockout. However, we will learn a lot from the first minute of this fight as if Radtke can find an early takedown and pin Prates down, it will be a long night for the Brazilian.

Radtke can hurt Prates on the feet particularly with that left hook. However, if he gets confident, Prates will find his flow and begin to snipe from range with his jab and teep kicks. So, the more Radtke wrestles, the better and we can see him earning enough control time to sway the judges.

Prediction: Radtke via Decision

Value bet: Radtke to win
