BRUNNO FERREIRA VS NURSULTON RUZIBOEV LOWDOWN
Brunno Ferreira’s (10-0) UFC debut could not have gone better. He stepped up on short notice to grace the UFC 283 card back in January filling in for Brad Tavares. He took on Gregory Rodrigues as the underdog and pulled off the memorable upset by sparking him out in the first round. That extended his unbeaten run to 10.
Now, it is Nursulton Ruziboev’s (34-8-2(2)) turn to make his debut as a replacement. He is coming in hot riding an eight-fight win streak finishing every fight (three knockouts and five submissions). He fought twice last year submitting Luciano Contini (Octagon Promotion) and Paval Masalski (WEF Global).

Ruziboev is understandably the favourite filling in as a replacement to take on an unbeaten knockout artist. However, considering the skill set, there is serious value on the Uzbekistani. He is a very powerful wrestler and hunts the takedown aggressively.
Once he gets his opponents on his back, he will rain down the ground-and-pound until a submission presents itself. We have now seen much of Ferreira’s takedown defence so Ruziboev could make a mockery of the odds if it does not hold up.
Ruziboev is experienced but unproven at this level and Ferreira’s striking is a level above. He has lethal knockout power and the longer this stays on the feet, the more likely he will walk away with another knockout.
Another Brazilian knockout is likely, but we have a feeling Ruziboev will weather the storm and keep Ferreira on his back long enough to earn a decision.
