ANDREI ARLOVSKI VS MARCOS ROGERIO DE LIMA LOWDOWN
It is wild that Andrei Arlovski (34-20(2)) is 43 years old, 56 fights deep into his MMA career and on a four-fight win streak. He is 23-14(1) in the UFC now and his best days are are firmly behind him, but he is coming off decisions over Chase Sherman (2021), Carlos Felipe (2021), Jared Vanderaa (2022) and Jake Collier back in April.
Not familiar with consistency is Marcos Rogerio de Lima (19-8-1). He finally broke his consecutive win-loss streak in the UFC by winning two in a row for the first time last year. After earning a unanimous decision over Maurice Greene (2021) he broke the pattern by TKOing Ben Rothwell (2021). However, normality resumed back in May by losing a unanimous decision to Blagoy Ivanov.

We know what to expect from these two. Arlovski will turn up unlike his savage ‘Pitbull’ days and be safe, solid and prepared for wherever the fight goes. De Lima will be less cautious hunting the knockout and looking to chop Arlovski down with leg kicks.
It is always hard to back de Lima, but if the majority of this fight stays on the feet and considering Arlovski and been knocked out 11 times in his career, we can certainly see him going down. However, if Arlovski is boring and just tries to tie de Lima up, he should be able to complete the takedown and bag the rounds.
Considering de Lima’s takedown defence, we are leaning towards another Arlovski decision, but a de Lima knockout is worth a small punt.
