Mirra Andreeva vs Lois Boisson prediction
Mirra Andreeva will be the latest seed to face the challenge of trying to defeat giant-killing wildcard Lois Boisson.
The world number 361 has caused a stir on debut at this year’s tournament with the 22-year-old underdog taking down a clutch of big names.
On Monday, it was world number three Jessica Pegula, who was knocked out of her rhythm and comfort zone by the French hopeful’s variety, slice and devilish drop shots, not to mention the switch-up in pace to her booming forehand.
Boisson has definitely got the attention of her country and can expect a strong backing from the home crowd, but she may find the going tougher against Andreeva.
The teenage Russian has more weapons that Pegula, with a more potent serve this year as well as heavy ground strokes. The sixth seed is also a good mover on the clay and may not be as awkward sliding into the forecourt.
Andreeva came up against a similar opponent in Kasatkina last time out and she looks like someone on a mission to make it back-to-back semi-finals at Roland-Garros.
