Mirra Andreeva vs Janice Tjen prediction

Mirra Andreeva was unable to make a deep run at either WTA 1000 event during the North American summer, and she will be hoping for an improvement at the US Open. The Russian, who won her first major title at Roland Garros in June, lost in the third-round of the Canadian Open to home favourite Leylah Fernandez. She did reach the round-of-16 in Cincinnati but was then on the end of a loss to Marta Kostyuk, despite winning the first set. Andreeva has never advanced beyond the third-round at Flushing Meadows. 

Her first-round opponent is Janice Tjen. The Indonesian lost at the round-of-16 stage of the Monterrey Open last time out to Yuliia Starodubtseva in straight sets. The 24-year-old has not reached a quarter-final this season, and she has lost 23 of her 39 matches in 2026.

They played each other for the first time less than two weeks ago in Cincinnati, with Andreeva winning 6-1 7-6. She will be expected to win in straight sets once again.
