Mirra Andreeva vs Clara Tauson prediction

Mirra Andreeva did not get her grass court preparations off to a good start as she lost to Magdalena Frech in the first-round of the German Open. The Russian made a strong start to the match and was just one game away from victory in the second set. However, she allowed her frustrations to get the better of her as the match wore on and her game deserted her in the decider, with Andreeva losing 2-6 7-6 6-0.

Clara Tasuon defeated Frech in the first-round of this event earlier this week. The Pole snatched a tight first set on a tiebreak despite Tauson having a set point, but the Dane recovered well to come back and win 6-7 6-3 6-3. It was a strong serving performance from Tauson as she hammered down 16 aces.

Andreeva and Tauson have played each other on three occasions overall and they have all taken place this year. The Russian has a 100% winning record against her opponent, having beaten Tauson in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships, the third-round of Indian Wells on her way to winning the tournament and the fourth-round of the Italian Open

Tauson will be a threat if she produces a similar serving performance but Andreeva does hold the psychological advance with three wins over the past four months.
