Miomir Kecmanovic vs Ben Shelton prediction
Miomir Kecmanovic picked up his best win of the season so far as he came from a set down to stun Tommy Paul in the round-of-16. The Serb was broken when serving to stay in the first set but broke Paul’s serve for the first time in the ninth game of the second as he levelled the match up. Kecmanovic opened up a 5-1 lead in the decider, and though he was broken when serving for the match at the first attempt, he held his nerve to win 5-7 6-4 6-4.
He now plays Ben Shelton. The second seed was pushed but got through his match with Adrian Mannarino in three sets. The first set went on serve, with Shelton dominating the tiebreak to lead. Mannarino was broken when serving for the second but still forced a decider after winning the second breaker. Despite a flurry of breaks in the middle of the third, Shelton edged in front to win 7-6 (2) 6-7 (4) 6-3.
Shelton is the clear favourite and has impressed in his two matches so far, but Kecmanovic seems to have bounced back from his early season slump and will be full of confidence after defeating Paul.
