The young American notched his first ever ATP Tour victory at the Australian Open after coming through qualifying and plays just his fifth top-tier match here.
Arthur Cazaux is his first opponent and the Frenchman could be vulnerable. The world number 76 has only played two Brisbane qualifiers since October and could be lacking match sharpness.
Zheng, 22, is very much on the rise having been just outside the top 300 in September and he is now up to 145 on the back of a couple of Challenger titles.
