Two-time defending champion Katie Boulter dug deep to edge past Sonay Kartal and return to the Nottingham quarter-finals.

The British number two saw off the British number three 6-4 1-6 7-5 to set up a last eight showdown with McCartney Kessler.

The American took down Lin Zhu 6-1 6-4 to back up a solid win over top seed Beatriz Haddad Maia. 

This will be their first meeting and Kessler certainly has the game to cause Boulter problems. 

The Brit sees this tournament as her home event and while the American will definitely fancy her chances here, we are tipping Boulter to prevail in a decider.
