Matteo Arnaldi vs Brandon Nakashima Prediction

Matteo Arnaldi is enjoying his week so far at Indian Wells and he will be fired up after his win over seventh-seed Andrey Rublev. There was little in the match that was littered with errors against Rublev, but ultimately Arnaldi broke Rublev more times than the Russian managed to break him (six versus four) and both players serve percentages were particularly low.

Nevertheless, Arnaldi will be excited to kick on and he now faces another seeded player in Brandon Nakashima. The pair actually met in Delray Beach just a couple of weeks ago and it was Arnaldi who won that match 7-6 6-4.

Nakashima won his opening match here 7-5 6-1 against Rinky Hijikata where he fired down an impressive 14 aces. That will give him good confidence in what has been a mixed start to 2025 for him so far.

There is not a great dividing these two players in so many areas but we just lean towards Arnaldi for the momentum he has. He may benefit from having played the extra match in the first round and combined with the fact he beat Nakashima just a few weeks ago, we like his chances of following it up here.
