Marta Kostyuk vs Storm Hunter prediction

Marta Kostyuk continued her excellent season as she reached the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open. The Ukrainian beat Mirra Andreeva in the round-of-16, but she was unable to cause too many problems for Coco Gauff in their last eight match, with Gauff easily winning 6-2 6-2. Kostyuk has advanced to two Grand Slam semi-finals this season and also won her first WTA 1000 title at the Madrid Open. 

She begins her US Open campaign against Storm Hunter. The Australian qualified for the event after a straight sets win over Darja Semenistaja. Hunter won her first major title in mixed doubles at the 2022 US Open, but she will be hoping for a landmark victory over Kostyuk in the singles at Flushing Meadows.

Kostyuk has become very consistent, and she will now be expected to make a deep run at her third Grand Slam in a row. She is the clear favourite to begin her campaign with a convincing win.
