Marie Bouzkova comfortably booked her place in the second-round of the Wuhan Open with a straight sets win over Camila Osorio. She made a stunning start to the match as she won the first five games, though did experience some difficulties with serving out for the first set as she was broken on two occasions. Nevertheless, she got the job done and broke at the end of the second set to win 6-3 6-4. The Czech player reached the round-of-16 in Beijing most recently and won her home event in July, the Prague Open.
Iga Swiatek, the second seed, is her opponent in round two. Swiatek crashed out of the China Open in the round-of-16, as an error-strewn performance saw her lost to Emma Navarro in three sets.
