Marie Bouzkova produced a stunning display to sink Karolina Pliskova and reach the final in Nottingham.
The fourth seed was well on top throughout the all-Czech affair and eventually cruised to a 6-4 6-1 success.
Bouzkova will now meet Emma Navarro in a showdown for the trophy after the third seed ended Viktorija Golubic’s fine run with a 7-6 6-2 victory.
This will be their maiden tussle and it’s a tough one to predict given how well they have played this week.
Both have a title each (on clay) this year, but Navarro has the greater grasscourt pedigree and on this type of showpiece occasion, she may well have the edge in a match that should have plenty of games.
