Maria Timofeeva vs Katerina Siniakova prediction

Maria Timofeeva has not featured since the Prague Open, which resulted in a round-of-16 thrashing to Sara Bejlek. Timofeeva had won her opening round match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich comfortably, but she was blown away by Bejlek as the Czech won 6-1 6-1. She did win her first WTA 125 title in Istanbul earlier in the season.

Her first-round opponent is Katerina Siniakova. The 30-year-old retired in the deciding set of her opening match at the Canadian Open against Kamilla Rakhimova. The doubles specialist’s best result in singles this year was a run to the round-of-16 at Indian Wells. This included an impressive win over defending champion Mirra Andreeva.

Siniakova has struggled in terms of singles results for quite some time, and that may provide some encouragement for Timofeeva, who has an opportunity to put her opponent under pressure and make this a far more competitive contest than the rankings suggest.
