Maria Sakkari is looking to kick-start her 2026 season after suffering three defeats in her last four outings.
The Greek picked up solid wins early on in the United Cup but has since struggled to find her best tennis.
In contrast, Zeynep Sonmez is full of confidence after a winning charge through qualifying took her to a career-best third round at the Australian Open.
The 23-year-old Turk also knows what it takes to defeat Sakkari having shared a win apiece with the world number 49 last year.
Both of those clashes were on hardcourts and ended in straight sets with Maria winning the most recent in the Tokyo semi finals in October.
Sonmez seems to have more momentum now and could well pull off the shock, but we think this is complicated to call given it may well rely on which Sakkari turns up.
