The Greek tumbled out of the top 30 and at one point was on the verge of falling outside the leading 100, but improved form of late has seen her move back to within range of the top 50, with a current ranking of 56.

First up here, she meets Ashlyn Krueger who she just about edged 7-6 6-7 7-5 in Beijing at the end of last month.

The American has also drifted in the rankings and now sits at 50 after reaching a career-high of 29 in July.

There’s not much between these two as the clash in Beijing demonstrated and it could be another battle to the wire, although Krueger will have the added motivation of revenge and could nick it this time.
