Jacob Fearnley followed up his quarter-final run at Queens with a convincing win over Flavio Cobolli. 

The British number two romped to a 6-2 6-2 victory against the Italian to notch up his first ever success in Eastbourne and book a round of 16 clash with Marcos Giron. 

The American chalked up his maiden win of the grass swing with a 6-4 7-5 triumph over Luciano Darderi. 

Giron won the Newport title last year on the turf and is no stranger to reaching the latter stages of tournaments on this surface. 

It’s a hard one to call given they are both handy on grass and within a few places of each other in the rankings. 

It could be wise to tip a third set while the home support could help Fearnley nab the win.
