Marcos Giron vs Alexander Zverev prediction

Marcos Giron defeated Quentin Halys in the second-round of Wimbledon. They last played against each other in the first-round of Roland Garros back in 2020, with Giron prevailing in five sets, but this was a far more comfortable result for the American as he won 7-6 (5) 6-3 6-4. Giron beat Corentin Moutet in his opening round match.

He will take on world number three Alexander Zverev for a place in the round-of-16. The Roland Garros champion produced another strong serving display, conceding just the one break point and winning 84% of his points on first serve as he won 6-1 6-3 7-6 (3) against Valentin Royer. Zverev is now on a nine-match winning streak at Grand Slam level.

Zverev leads the head-to-head 4-0 and 2-0 on grass. They played against each other in the second-round of Wimbledon two years ago, with the German strolling to a 6-2 6-1 6-4 win. This is likely to be another comfortable win for Zverev.
