Marcos Giron vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Marcos Giron last competed at the French Open, but he lost in the first-round in four sets to Tallon Griekspoor. He now transitions to the grass, with his last match on the surface being his only ATP Tour title at the Hall of Fame Open in Newport. Giron defeated Alex Michelsen in the final. Despite that triumph, Giron has struggled elsewhere on the surface, having never got past the second-round stage at Wimbledon on four separate occasions.
He has a tough match to start against Alexander Zverev. Zverev looked to have made the perfect start to his grass court season at the Stuttgart Open as he made the final without the drop of a set. However, the world number three produced a flat performance against Taylor Fritz and fell to yet another defeat to the American.
Zverev leads the head-to-head 3-0 and 1-0 on grass. He easily beat Giron 6-2 6-1 6-4 in the second-round of Wimbledon last year. We can’t see anything other than a comfortable win for Zverev in this one.
