Marco Trungelliti vs Daniil Medvedev prediction
Marco Trungelliti claimed his first main draw victory at a Masters event as he beat Hamad Medjedovic in straight sets to reach the second-round at the Cincinnati Open. The Argentine, who made his top 100 debut this year at the age of 36, won 7-5 7-6 (2). His best result of the season was his run to the final of the Grand Prix Hassan II, where he would lose to rising star Rafael Jodar.
He now takes on former world number one Daniil Medvedev. The Russian was knocked out in the second-round of the Canadian Open last time out, as he lost in straight sets to Botic van de Zandschulp. Medvedev has enjoyed some highs this season, with titles in Brisbane and Dubai backed up a runner-up finish at Indian Wells, but his results have been largely poor since the Italian Open in May.
Despite his indifferent form, Medvedev is a former champion at this event, and he will be a clear favourite to win this match.
