Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera vs Jaume Munar prediction

Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera was victorious on the Challenger Tour at the beginning of April, winning an event in Campinas to set himself up for the rest of the clay court season. He seemed to take the form with him into his most recent tournament in Mauthausen last week. The Chilean won four games on the trot to reach the final but lost out to compatriot Nicolas Jarry despite taking the first set. He should still plenty of encouragement from that run ahead of his first-round match against Jaume Munar.

Munar is struggling and has won just one of his five matches on clay this season. He competed at the Challenger event in Aix-en-Provence last week but despite being the fourth seed, he lost in the first-round to Valentin Vacherot.  

Even though he is the lower-ranked player, Barrios Vera has far more wins under his belt recently, albeit at Challenger level, and we back him to defeat Munar over three sets.
