Manly Sea Eagles vs Sydney Roosters prediction
The Manly Sea Eagles (9th) are clinging to their finals aspirations but are coming off a devastating 42-4 capitulation to the Canterbury Bulldogs in Round 21. The result was a massive blow to their points differential, undoing the good work of a three-game winning streak that preceded it.
The Sydney Roosters (10th) are also in a precarious position, having won just one of their last four games. They showed plenty of fight in their 34-30 loss to the Melbourne Storm last week but have been plagued by an inability to perform consistently this season.
Sea Eagles centre Reuben Garrick is the focal point of Manly's attack. He is the second-leading point-scorer in the NRL with 170 points and is also the club's equal-leading try-scorer with 12.
Veteran Roosters winger Daniel Tupou has scored seven tries in the last five matches.
The Roosters have won five of the last seven H2H games against the Sea Eagles. However, Manly's record at their Brookvale home ground is formidable, having won 38 of 54.
A genuine coin-flip game. Manly's home advantage is strong, but their confidence is shot and they are missing Olakau'atu. The Roosters showed positive signs against Melbourne and are strengthened by key returns.
Manly Sea Eagles vs Sydney Roosters tip: Total match points over 43.5
