Manly Sea Eagles vs Cronulla Sharks prediction

The Cronulla Sharks played well in patches to defeat the Parramatta Eels 28-18. This went someway to erasing the disappointment of the missed opportunities against the Tigers the previous week. The return of KL Iro was certainly a bonus and the try scoring form of Samuel Stonestreet continues after he grabbed another double, giving him 8 tries for the season with four braces. Nicho Hynes contributed three try assists in another performance to quell the doubters about the impact he can have on matches. The knock that continues for the Sharks however is that they are yet to defeat a quality side. Their test comes this week against the Manly Sea Eagles who are well rested after the bye and a convincing win over the Panthers a week prior.

With some key inclusions this week the Sea Eagles are as close to full strength as they have been in quite some time. Their record against the Sharks at home has been well documented over the years, winning 34 of 42 matches dating back to 1967. Of late however, the Sharks have bucked the trend and have won three straight at their bogey ground.

With the peculiar nature of the 2025 draw, this will be the second meeting in a month, with the Sharks having prevailed 24-18 in Perth for Round 6.

We think the Sharks can continue their unlikely form at Brookvale and upset the local team in this one.
