Magdalena Frech vs Veronika Kudermetova prediction

Magdalena Frech’s China Open campaign ended in swift fashion as she was defeated by Ella Seidel in the first-round. It has not been the most positive of seasons for the Pole, and she is now down to 44 in the world. Her best result was a quarter-final appearance at the Washington Open, but Frech has lost 24 of her 37 matches overall in 2025.

Veronika Kudermetova fared slightly better in Beijing as she got through to round three before a straight sets loss to Marie Bouzkova. The Russian impressed with her run to the semi-finals of the Cincinnati but has lost three of her four matches since then. 

They have faced each other on just one occasion on the WTA Tour, with Kudermetova winning in straight sets at the Jasmin Open three years ago, on a hard court. Despite her indifferent form, she has enough quality to get through to the next round against Frech.
