Magdalena Frech will be targeting a first win in six matches when she meets lucky loser Sara Errani.
The Pole sits 124 places better off in the rankings with the 37-year-old Italian’s best singles years now firmly behind her.
Indeed, Errani has serious pedigree on clay and did reach the 2012 French Open final, but her best results have come as a serial winner in doubles and she had only won one singles match in 2025 prior to beating Nastasja Schunk in the first qualifying round in Stuttgart.
