Magdalena Frech vs Marie Bouzkova prediction
Magdalena Frech advanced to the last eight of the Merida Open after an emphatic win over Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. She did not drop a service game in the first set, and despite going an early break down in the second, she reasserted her dominance of the match by winning six of the last seven games to seal a 6-0 6-3 win after just one hour and 15 minutes.
She now faces Marie Bouzkova. The Czech went through as her opponent Emiliana Arango was forced to retire at the start of the deciding set. Arango, who made the final of this event last year, was in control after dominating the first set but Bouzkova responded by winning the second with ease. Bouzkova was leading 2-6 6-1 2-0 when Arango called it quits.
Bouzkova leads the head-to-head 2-1. Frech performed well in her last match but Bouzkova knows how to make a deep run at hard court events and is just ahead as the favourite.
