Magdalena Frech vs Leolia Jeanjean prediction
Magdalena Frech enters Toronto holding a ranking of 48 in the world, though she has lost 19 of her 35 matches in 2026. The 28-year-old Pole competed at the Washington Open last week; she won her first-round match against Ann Li but was then beaten by top seed Jessica Pegula, despite winning the first set. Her form has been largely inconsistent this season, but she did advance to the final at the Merida Open earlier in the year.
Leolia Jeanjean earned her main-draw spot after navigating her way past Lin Zhu in qualifying. She found herself down a set but roared back to win 2-6 6-2 6-3. She does have two WTA 1000 victories to her name this season, following opening round victories in Rome and Madrid, but she is yet to make a true impact on the tour.
Jeanjean has excellent match sharpness from qualifying, but Frech did push Pegula at times last week, and she has enough quality to get through.
Magdalena Frech vs Leolia Jeanjean tip: Magdalena Frech to win 2-0
