Magda Linette vs Rebecca Sramkova prediction
Rebecca Sramkova had to battle hard and was pushed to her limits in the first round against USA’s Caroline Dolehide. After losing the first set 1-6, Sramkova battled back to take set two 6-4 which led to a long, tense final set. However, Sramkova managed to find that little bit extra and came through against the Chicago native, winning 7-6 after dropping just one point in the tie-break.
Magda Linette disappointed in Montreal, going out early to unseeded opposition in Anastasija Sevastova in three sets. Linette has had the opportunity to rest and reflect on that result and should come out of the blocks quickly here having had to wait for the chance to get back on court. Against a potentially fatigued opponent, this bodes well.
Whilst Sramkova is a battler and could well force another third set, Linette should overwhelm her eventually and that extra rest may prove to be decisive. Back the Pole to win in three.
