Magda Linette vs Mia Pohankova prediction
Magda Linette recovered from a tough start to beat Kimberly Birrell in the first-round of the Libema Open. Birrell began well and took the first set with ease, but Linette was not broken on serve in the next two sets as she won 2-6 6-1 6-2. Linette is now one match away from her first quarter-final appearance since January.
She takes on Mia Pohankova. The teenager pulled off an upset on the opening day of the tournament as she beat Clara Tauson in straight sets. The Slovak wildcard, who won the junior title at Wimbledon last year, recovered from a 4-1 deficit in the second set to win 6-4 6-4 against the second seed. This was her first ever victory over a top 30 opponent.
Pohankova is clearly an effective player on the grass, and she will be flowing with confidence after that display against Tauson. Linette is the favourite here, but she is likely to be challenged by the youngster for at least a set.
