Magda Linette vs Alexandra Eala prediction

Alexandra Eala will hope it’s a case of third time lucky when she meets Magda Linette for a place in the last four in Auckland.

The fourth seed clocked up a dominant 6-0 6-2 win over Petra Marcinko and will now bid to break her duck against the Pole.

Fifth seed, Linette overcame a second set wobble to defeat Elisabetta Cocciaretto 7-5 2-6 6-3 and will be full of confidence with a 2-0 head-to-head advantage over Eala.

The rising Filipino star has yet to win a set against the Pole, but we fancy that this will change in their third encounter. 

Linette is a steady performer but if Eala can find her range with her risk-reward tennis, she may well come out on top on this occasion.
