That could help give the American the belief needed to replicate her run to the US Open final back in 2017, but she’ll have to clear a tough first obstacle.
Renata Zarazua is more than capable of pulling off an upset. Her style of play is not easy to counter and Keys will need to ensure she plays a clean game, staying clear of unenforced errors and utilising her power to overwhelm Zarazua’s defence on the court.
