Madison Keys vs Elina Svitolina Prediction

Madison Keys reached a fourth Australian Open quarter-final by seeing off sixth seed Elena Rybakina in a round of 16 encounter that swung back and forth in momentum.

The American prevailed 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 to reach the last eight of a Grand Slam for the first time since 2023, taking advantage of a lower back injury from Rybakina to seize control of the match in the decider.

For Elina Svitolina, it is a 12th Grand Slam quarter-final after the Ukrainian defeated Veronika Kudermetova in straight sets, recovering from 1-4 down in the first by winning 11 of the next 12 games.

Although Keys leads the head-to-head 3-2, the pair have faced each other just once in the last five years – Keys winning in Adelaide in January 2022. They have been drawn together once before at the Australian Open though, with Svitolina winning a 2021 fourth-round contest.

Svitolina has just been a little more consistent than her opponent throughout the tournament, with Keys occasionally losing focus. If that pattern continues, then the Ukrainian is the likelier victor in a close match.
