Madison Keys vs Anna Bondar prediction

Madison Keys overcame a potentially awkward opening match at the US Open as she beat 19-year-old Alina Korneeva in straight sets. The 22nd seed, who reached the final in 2017, struck 21 winners and converted six out of eight break points as she won 7-5 6-4. Keys was broken on four separate occasions and will hope for a better serving performance when she plays Anna Bondar in the second-round. The American did progress to the last eight of the Cincinnati Open last month, losing to Sara Bejlek. 

Bondar produced an impressive display to beat Lucie Havlickova in straight sets. The Hungarian, who was in the final of the Hamburg Open two months ago, won 6-3 6-3 against the qualifier.

Keys leads 1-0 in the head-to-head, and defeated Bondar in straight sets at the Charleston Open in April. She will hope to create plenty of opportunities on her opponent’s serve in this match.
