Mackenzie McDonald vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina Prediction

Mackenzie McDonald is coming off a run to the final at a Challenger tournament in San Diego and he will hope to carry some of that momentum into Indian Wells this week.

The 29-year-old has won a couple of matches on the ATP Tour this season but he has been handed a tough first-round match against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

The Spaniard is also coming off an appearance in a final as he made it all the way in Acapulco but Tomas Machac edged him to the title.

He is still looking for his first ATP Tour title despite reaching three finals but it takes nothing away from the fact that he is playing some really good tennis right now. 

He has won 13 matches from 19 played in 2025 and to combine with his strong record, he has won all three previous meetings against McDonald. The last one came just a couple of weeks ago in Delray Beach and he will be confident of making it number four here. Expect Davidovich Fokina to ease to a victory in this one.
