Lulu Sun vs Claire Liu prediction
Lulu Sun continued her fine run of form as she came from a set down to defeat Caty McNally. The New Zealander dropped her first set in four matches as McNally edged ahead, but Sun did not even concede a break point after that as she wrapped up a 3-6 6-3 6-4 win after one hour and 57 minutes. Sun, who reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals last year, won 80% of her points on first serve.
Claire Liu continued her best run at a WTA event this season as she also came from a set down to defeat Ella Seidel. Seidel broke in the first set to take the lead, but Liu dominated the second and then held her nerve in the decider to secure a 4-6 6-4 6-0 win.
Liu will take confidence from her performances this week, but Sun now has eight wins from her last nine matches, including the qualifying stages, after making the final in Jinan on the ITF circuit last week. She’s performing well and has enough quality to get through.
