Lucie Havlickova vs Alena Kovackova prediction
Lucie Havlockova has been handed a wildcard to compete in the Prague Open this week. She performed incredibly well just last month at a W15 tournament in Mogyorod on the ITF Women’s Tour. She went all the way from qualifying to a victory in the final, winning all eight matches without the drop of a set. The 20-year-old was ranked at a high of 196 in the world rankings two years ago but a serious injury in May 2024 kept her out of the sport for a year. She is currently ranked outside the top 800 and is tentatively continuing her return.
She will face another young Czech in Alena Kovackova. She was handed a wildcard to compete in qualifying for the tournament, with the 17-year-old defeating two former top 100 players in Arina Rodionova and Lucrezia Stefanini to make it through. She will now be making her tour-level debut.
These two are both finding their feet in the game and it’s difficult to call a winner. Havlickova won an event just last month and has just a tad more experience which could see her come out on top.
